Biography

John Callison was born 5 Aug 1769 in Augusta County, Virginia. He married Jane McClure 19 Jan 1789 in Greenbrier County, Virginia.[1] They had at least six children: Elizabeth, Martha, Arthur, Charles, James, and Catherine.

The family migrated from Virginia to Ohio sometime between 1800 and 1810, as daughter Martha was married in Champaign County, Ohio in July of 1810. The family were settled in Clark County for the 1820 census. Jane died in 1830. In the 1840 census, John was living with his son Charles and his family. John died 19 Aug 1844 in Clark County, Ohio.[2] John is buried in Callison Cemetery in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio.
