Captain Uriah Case served in the American Revolution with the Connecticut Militia.[1]
Uriah, the sixth son and sixth of eleven children of Richard Case Jr. and Mercy Holcombe was born on 16 January 1743 at Simsbury, Connecticut.[2]
Uriah married married as his first wife Susannah Lawrence (1739-1776), the daughter of Samuel and Patience (Bigelow) Lawrence on 21 May 1765 at Simsbury, Hartford, Connecticut.[3]He and Susannah had five children:
Zilpah Case (b. 17 Mar 1766),[4] m. say 1786 at Hartford, CT, Isaiah Taylor (1768-1811)
Sylvia Case (b. 13 Jun 1768; d. 1842),[5] m. 1786 at Hartford, CT, Amasa Tuller (1765-1792)
Uriah Case (b. 2 Jul 1771; d. 1819),[6] m. 1795 at Hartford, CT, Sarah Noble (1776-1807)
Susannah Case (b. 1773; d. 1808), m. 27 May 1793 at Simsbury, CT, Jared Mills (1772-1821)
Eunice Case (b. 1780; d. 1858), m. 15 Jan 1798 at Hartford, CT, Roswell Reed (1776-1852)
Susannah (Lawrence) Case died on 17 January 1776. Uriah married 2) Eunice Dill (1753-1815) in 1778 at Simsbury, Connecticut. He and Eunice had at least six children:
Watson Case (b. 1781; d. 1853),
Elizabeth Case (b. 1783; d. 1808),
Holcomb Case (b. 1784; d. 1854),
Clara Case (b. 1788; d. 1862),
Lydia Case (b. 1791; d. 1822),
Cynthia Case (b. 1793; d. 1896).
Eunice (Dill) Case died on 18 May 1815 in her 61st year. She is buried in the Canton Street Cemetery at Canton, Connecticut.
Uriah married 3) Mary Case (1755-1833), the widow of Silas Case (1749-1809) say 1816 at Simsbury, Connecticut. There were no known children from this third union.
Captain Uriah Case died on 23 December 1826 in his 83rd year at Connecticut.[7]He is buried in the Canton Street Cemetery at Canton, Hartford, Connecticut.[8]
