26th Massachusetts Bay Provincial Regiment (1775)
The 26th Massachusetts Bay Provincial Regiment was commanded by Colonel Edmund Phinney, whose regiment was raised in the present state of Maine. Phinney served as colonel until the end of the year. In August 1775, Phinney's Regiment was designated "The 31st Regiment of Foot." It served in the Siege of Boston until its disbandment.
