The Queen's Loyal Rangers was a regiment recruited from New York Loyalists in 1777 by Lt. Col. John Peters in the lead up to General Burgoyne's disastrous Saratoga Campaign. The unit saw combat at the Battle of Bennington, and was subsequently decimated at the Battle of Saratoga, after which some 90 survivors made their way to Canada, where they were reorganized in Quebec, merging with Col. Jessup's King’s Loyal Americans to form a new regiment named the Loyal Rangers.
