Sobibór was an extermination camp located in the forest next to the railway station of Sobibór in occupied Poland. New arrivals were immediately sent to the gas chambers, with rare exceptions for those forced to serve as slave laborers assisting in the operation of the camp. Approximately 200,000 people were murdered there.
