Biography

Alla Chadderdon was born in or around 1860. The 1860 US census lists her as an infant, the only child of Sanford and Caroline (Bratt) Chadderdon of Howard Township, Cass County, Michigan.

By 1870 the Chadderdon family had moved to Hope Township, Barry County, Michigan. Alla was 10 years old.

On July 4, 1877, Alla Chadderdon married Enoch Gillespie Jr. He was 32, she was 20.

In 1880 Alla and Enoch Gillespie resided in Baltimore Township, Barry County, Michigan. On August 11, 1880, daughter Effie Gillespie was born.

Alla married William Burchett on February 20, 1891. He had two children from a previous marriage. On February 22, 1893 a baby was born to Alla and William Burchett that died in infancy. Daughter Beulah Burchett was born in 1895.

Husband William Burchett died in February 1927.
