Andrina was born at or near Glendale, Northumberland. There is confusion about the date. The National Register taken in September 1939 showed her birthdate was 10 March 1916 but her name appears on an official list , "Births Registered in January, February & March 1915". My assumption is that 1915 was correct and the National Register got it wrong.

She is the daughter of William Clazie and Eleanor Crawford. The surname was spelled both Clazie and Clazey.

An army form completed in 1918 regarding the death of her brother, Robert Clazie, showed Andrina's name as "Una", age 4.

The National Register in 1939 - replacement for a census - showed that she was a domestic servant at West Newbigging, near Norham, Northumberland.

During World War II she had a relationship with a Polish soldier, Piotr Szumejko, who was stationed in the Scottish Borders. There is no evidence that they ever married but their son, Michael, was born in January 1944; his father was killed in France a few months later.

In 1948, Andrina married George McLaughlan at Glendale, Northumberland, and they had children, Benny and Helen.

Andrina died in January 2008 at Berwick-upon-Tweed. An online obituary on 28 Jan 2008 shows:

"McLAUGHLAN (Berwick-upon-Tweed). On January 25th, in Albury House, Andrina, aged 92 years, much loved mother of Rosemary, Michael, Benny and Helen. Funeral at Tweedmouth Cemetery on Wednesday 30th January at 10.30am. Friends please meet at the cemetery."

The age 92 shown in the obit appears to confirm that she was born in 1915.
