William Coldicutt migrated from England to New Zealand.
Biography
William Coldicutt (junior) was born in 1826 in Birmingham. He was the first born child of William Coldicutt and Sarah Rouse of Birmingham.
The Coldicutt family arrived into Auckland via the Waitamata Harbour on board the Osprey in May 1842. His father was an experienced sawmiller and a sawmill was planned for Cornwallis on the Manukau Harbour. The family settled on a farm in Epsom, which was known as Manuka Grove.
William Coldicutt married in 1855 when he was 29 years old.
In 1875[1], he married Rebecca Bycroft, 25 years his junior.[2]
He passed away in 1903. William is buried in the Silverdale Cemetery, but there is no headstone marking his plot. (Row 2A, Plot 18)
