Patrick Colgan was born in Ireland.

Patrick Colgan was born in Kilcock, Co. Kildare in May 1837. He is the son of Thomas Colgan and Anne Owens. He was baptised in Kilcock parish on 14 May 1837. His sponsors were Thomas Fitzsimmons and Anna Sheridan.^[1]
