Thomas Colgan was born in Kilcock, Co. Kildare in December 1839. He is the son of Thomas Colgan and Anne Owens. He was baptised in Kilcock parish on 27 December 1839. His sponsors were Thomas Colgan and Bridget Macan.^[1]
