Hope (Cooke) Borden was born in 1721. She married Richard Borden on March 12, 1747. Together, they were the parents of six children. During the Revolutionary War, British troops burned the family saw mill, together with a great deal of manufactured lumber, owned by her sons, who were operating the mill. Her husband was carried away a prisoner by the raiders, who also burned their home.She passed away in 1791. She was buried in the North Burial Ground in Fall River, Bristol, Massachusetts, United States.
