Jimmie was born in 1917 in Havana, Florida. She was the daughter of Cursie and Manerva Curtis.

She served in the Women's Auxiliary Service in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945, earning the rank of Corporal. She spent her later years in Haverstraw, New York

She passed away in 2009 and is buried in the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, in Goshen, New York.
