Alice (D'Arcy) Dopping was born in Ireland.

Alice was born about 1736. She was the daughter of John D'Arcy and Elizabeth Judge.[1]

She married Anthony Dopping, son of the Rt. Rev. Anthony Dopping, in Killucan County Westmeath, on 31 Jan 1756,[2][3] and they had at least seven children:

  1. Anthony (1759-1777)[4]
  2. John (b. 1760)[5]
  3. Samuel (bef.1761-1822)
  4. Elizabeth (1762-1773)[6]
  5. Ralph (abt.1765-abt.1818) m. Catherine Smyth
  6. Dorothea (1771- ) d. unm.[7]
  7. Catherine (b. 1773)[8]

She died in 1794 in County Westmeath.[9]

Research Notes

Alice's birth and death dates in the D'Arcy of Hyde Park Papers differ depending on the page. Page 10 gives her the exact same birth and death dates as her brother Arthur, while page 12 gives her no birth date at all and a death date the same as her husband's. While the papers give a bibliography, they do not say specifically where the dates were taken. I have opted for the death date given on page 12, while giving her an estimated birth date that falls in a gap between her siblings. Rounsefell-5 16:12, 5 September 2023 (UTC)
