Benjamin was born in 1790 in North Carolina. He fought in the War of 1812. He married his 1st Wife Elizabeth _ _ _ _? sometime after that war. Together they had at least 6 Children possibly more.

Benjamin Dagley married a 2nd time after the death of his 1st wife Elizabeth _ _ _ _? He married Barbara (Ridenhour) Cooper in the month of July, 1868 most likely in Scott County, TN. Benjamin died the following year in 25 March 1869. Barbara his 2nd wife applied for and received an $8.00 widow's pension for widows of veterans of the War of 1812. She made her application in 1878 in Yellow Bell, Kentucky, and received her first check in January 1882, in Jacksboro, Tennessee.
