Born in Manila, Philippines to George & Gina. I grew up in Wallsend/Maryland NSW. I have 2 siblings but am the eldest of 9.
Not much is known about my grandad & his family.
GEORGE HENRY DART (1904-1960) born in Newport Monmouthshire, Wales.
Story is he worked as a cabin boy & jumped ship to come to Australia.
I've been told he was married prior to his arrival (wife unknown) however is wife died young?

George married my grandmother, Angelina Netta HARDES of Wallsend NSW.
I have discovered that my family name was originally MADGE, however my 4x great grandad, William took on his wife's (Frances) surname DART. Some family went by MADGE, DART or MADGE DART.
