Biography

Margaret de Beauchamp[1][2]

Daughter of Thomas de Beauchamp, K.G., 11th Earl of Warwick, and his wife Katherine, daughter of Roger de Mortimer, Knt., 1st Earl of March, Margaret de Beauchamp married Guy de Montfort before 20 January 1349 (date of fine). They had no issue.[2]
Guy de Montfort "presumably died before 1362," and Margaret "became a nun at Shouldham Priory, Norfolk."[2] She was living in 1369, as she is named in both of her parents' wills.[3]

Research Notes

Born: Her birth year is not given in Richardson[1] or Cawley.[4] Complete Peerage notes that her parents married in 1337,[5] and Margaret was not their first child, so "about 1334" is unlikely; about 1350 is after she is known to have married.[2]
  • about 1334, Warwick Castle[6]
  • about 1350, Of, Warwick, WAR, England[7]
  • about 1344, based on her being listed as her parents' 8th child (of 10), with brother Thomas (3rd child)[4] born before 16 March1338/9.[1]
