Flag of Virginia
John Doby lived in Virginia.

John, eldest son of John Doby, was born around 1677. This is date is just a guess, based on his parent's marriage year of 1675, also a guess.

He was married to Ann. There is no record of their marriage date but she is mentioned in his will.[1]

In 1704 he paid tax on property in Prince George County, VA.[2] It's unlikely that he lived there because his will references that property separate from the property that he lived on.[1]

In 1716 John and his property in Prince George County are mentioned in a land patent.[3]

John wrote his will on July 3, 1735. It was probated on June 15, 1737. His will bequeaths his slaves to his wife, but none are listed by name.[1]

Slaves

  • Bequeathed to his wife in his will, but none are listed by name.
