Catherine (Douthit) McKnight lived in Appalachia, in North Carolina.
CATHERINE DOUTHIT McKNIGHT
CATHERINE DOUTHIT was born in 1741 at Monocacy, Frederick, Maryland. She was the daughter of JOHN DOUTHIT Sr. and MARY ELIZABETH HOPE SCOTT. In 1762 in the State of North Carolina, she married GEORGE ALEXANDER McNIGHT (NOTE: there appears some controversy as to whether or not she had previously been wed to someone surnamed "LEE"). Her Find A Grave Memorial Record originally showed her name as: CATHERINE DOUTHIT LEE McKNIGHT. HOWEVER,
I could find no evidence she either had a second name of 'Lee'
or that there was evidence for a marriage prior to George McKnight. Anyone who could contribute to this matter are encouraged to leave comments or send me a private message. jlphawn
