Unsourced family notes have her born in 1766, daughter of James Thomas Drane & Elizabeth Smith Piles (b. 1730) -- but this doesn't tally with her having children over a 20 year span, if she started at age 31. Also, there's no source found for James having a middle name, which wasn't common until the mid-late 1800s.
Elizabeth's death record show b. 1786 MD, which would mean that she was married at 10 yo. which is not likely. Also on that same record her father's name is recorded as I.H.E. [James] Drane. The data was transcribed by Mrs.A. D. Kirk, 1729 McCreary Av, Owensboro, KY in Oct 1971 from old tombstones in the Woodward Cemetery. The cemetery is located on a farm Shannon Acres owned by Mr. and Mrs. Orville Tichenor at that time. It's located about 4 1/2 miles NE of Hartford, KY, a short distance from US Highway N.[3] It's possible the transcription is in error.
What's clear from the transcription is Elizabeth was the wife of John Woodward and then J. Bennett. According to researcher William H. Hurley, Elizabeth m. FNU Wells[2] but no source is provided and that information didn't appear on her tombstone.
Marriages
On 09 Nov 1796 Upper Marlboro, Prince George's, Maryland, Elizabeth m. John Benjamin Woodward[4] b. 1766 Prince George's Co., KY d. May 1817 Ohio Co., KY. Researcher Dan Willis reported that John Woodward married Elizabeth's mother after Mr. Drane died but given that Elizabeth had children with John it's this Elizabeth.[1]
On 15 Aug 1823 Elizabeth m. Col. John M. Bennett b. abt. 1776 Ohio Co., KY d. aft. 1840;[5] migrated first to MO and then to No Creek in Ohio Co KY in 1798. [citation needed]
