Charles Dufour was born on 27 October 1755 in Gillett, Arkansas, part of the Louisiana Territory claimed by France. He was the son of Jean Dufour and Marie Phillippe (DeCoux) Dufour.
When Charles was about 25 he married Adrienne Deshotel in 1778 in Pointe Coupee, Louisiana. [1]
He died on March 30 and was buried 31 March 1809 in Pointe Coupee, Louisiana.[2]
