Biography

Frances Ball Downman was born in 1734 in North Farnham, Virginia to parents William Downman and Ann Ball. She married Daniel Everett on 23 Oct 1750 in Virginia. Children: Mildred (Milly) Ann, John, Anne, Travis, Catherine, Sarah, T William, Margaret, Daniel, Epaphroditus (Eppy), Joseph Slaton, Sydnor. She died in 1843 in Halifax, Virginia.

"DANIEL EVERETT [1827] was born 8 March 1730/31 in North Farnham Parish, Richmond County, Virginia, and died about 1803 in Birch Creek Township, Halifax County, Virginia. He married FRANCES [last name unknown] about 1755. She was born before 1734 in North Farnham Parish, Richmond County, Virginia. Daniel witnessed the will of his first cousin John Elmore in North Farnham Parish, Richmond County, Virginia on 19 July 1756. In 1761 he was named Executor of the will of brother-in-law John Williams, Sr. In 1768 Daniel sold 160 acres of land in Richmond County for 40 pounds sterling and on the same day paid 80 pounds sterling for Frances to relinquish her right to dower. This would seem to indicate a divorce and call into the question the mother of Sydnor. Apparently Daniel moved to Pittsylvania County, Virginia with his children before by 1777 where he took the Oath of Allegiance. Daniel filed for a Revolutionary War pension from Pittsylvania County, Virginia."
