Moved to Scarborough, ME with his widowed mother where she m. John Babb on Aug. 25, 1731. Nathaniel eventually acquired his father's land grant & became prominent in town affairs. His burial site is unknown. Fenderson name now often used.
He moved as a child to Scarborough, ME with his widowed mother ca. 1727-31, living in the household of his stepfather, John Babb. He acquired his father's Scarborough land grant when he came of age , described as follows: "Begining at a beach tree marked K. on the south side of the road above Phillip's bridge running eightly poles along said road upon NW by W line joining Crocket's land on the E at the aforesaid marked tree and on the W to Job Burnam's land at a tree marked J.B. & W.H. thence running 60 poles on a SW line or however the lot is bounded as by the records of the prop. of Scarboro." (York Co. Registry 22:247). The land was located just above Philip's Bridge in the Dunstan area. Nathaniel bought and sold a number of land parcels in the Scarboro area. He later ca. 1760-65 built a large house and barn just off what is now Route 22 (Fenderson 1992). This farm was occupied by his descendants through the 6th generation and included Albion L. Joseph B., Lucey E., Addie and Lottie Fenderson. The original buildings are now gone, but the family cemetery remains on a wooded knoll east of the old cellar hole. Nathaniel was prominent in Scarborough town affairs, died in Scarborough and likely is buried in the family cemetery with his 2nd wife.
Surname is found as "Fenderson" in many Scarborough records.
