Laurens was born probably at the end of 1740. He was the son of Abraham Fonda and most likely Elbertje Van Alen. Bapt. 10 Jan 1741 Dutch Reformed Church, Albany, NY

Research Notes

I suspect the name Hendrikje written in the baptism record was a mistake by the person who wrote it in 1741 as I can find no indication of any other Abraham Fonda during this time period married to a Hendrikje. Also, the Abraham Fonda married to Elbertje and that Laurens is attributed to is listed in this Abrahams will that was probated in 1762. Hollenbeck-914
