Joseph Nash Foote was born on 24 September 1760,[1] in Monson, Hampden, Massachusetts, his father, Joseph Foot, was 30 and his mother, Roselle Chapin, was 6. He married Abigail Dudley on 25 March 1786, in Spencer, Tioga, New York, United States,she died in 1795. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 2 daughters. He lived in Coventry, Coventry, Chenango, New York, United States for about 5 years. Joseph married his 2nd wife Dorcas Nicholson in about 1795
Joseph Foote, a native of Massachusetts, fought for American independence. He was only sixteen years of age when as a drummer boy he enlisted in his country's service. For six years he served under the immediate command of Gen. Washington, with whom he was personally acquainted, and at the close of the war was mustered out as orderly sergeant. He then settled in New York, where he spent the remainder of his days, dying at the advanced age of one hundred years, three months and sixteen days.[2] Joseph Foote Died 10 Feb 1861, age 100[3]DAR Patriot [4]
