Marriage & Children

Many online family trees cite a marriage between Edward Drew and Mary Furrington (alt Furrin, Hurrington) on 21 November 1639 in Stepney, Middlesex, England.^[1] Edward Drew was in Virginia in 1639 and could not have married in England. (Strutton-11 16:21, 3 March 2023 (UTC))

Edward's wife was named Mary, last name at birth unknown. He apparently married her in Virginia between 1639 and 1647.

Research Notes

Since Edward did not marry until he arrived in Virginia, his wife was not the Mary ffurington/Hurrington in the 1639 marriage record in Stepney, Middlesex, England. It is known the her given name was Mary from a record naming Mary as wife of Edward Drew in 1647. (Strutton-11 16:21, 3 March 2023 (UTC))
