Sarah was born about 1898, the daughter of William Gelston and Martha Taylor. When she was seven years old, both her parents died within a few months of each other. Sarah went to live with her uncle, Herbert Taylor and his wife Cynthia. She was legally adopted by them and her last name was changed to Taylor. Sarah died the day after giving birth to her son Richard.[1]
