Biography
Conrad was born in 1855-12-03 in Schweinsberg, Germany. He was a son of Martin Gleiser (1821-1902) and Catharina Margarethe (Gondermann) Gleiser (1831-1899).[1]
He emigrated to the United States around 1881. In December 1881, he married Anna Elisabeth (Engeland) Gleiser (1858-1936), a German who had grown up in Canada[2][3].
Between 1882 and 1892, the Gleisers had five children; all survived to adulthood.[3]. Between 1900 and 1910, the Gleisers lived at 4430 S Langley Ave, Chicago Illinois. Many adult Gleiser children continued to live at home while working until their marriages[4]
Conrad Gleiser died January 6, 1919 and is buried at Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago.[5][6].
