Mary Goldsbrough, born 19-Mar, 2nd daughter of William Goldsbrough (weaver, native of the parish of Hurworth) by his wife Eleanor Close (native of the parish of Hurworth)was baptised on 1 May 1808 at Hurworth, All Saints. [1]
Family
Parents
The parents were William Goldsborough and Elinor Close who married at Hurworth on 23 Nov 1803. The marriage was by banns, bachelor and spinster. [2] Witnesses were Charles Hunter and Ann Goldsbrough. [Note: Goldsborough in the register, but both William and the witness Ann both signed Goldsbrough.] [3]

William and Eleanor had at least the following children - all baptised at Hurworth-on-Tees:
William's occupation was given as a weaver and both he and Eleanor were native of Hurworth.
Marriage
On the 1st of August 1829, Mary married William Anderson in the church at Hurworth. They were bachelor and spinster both of this parish and married by banns. The witnesses were John Goldsbrough, Isabella Richardson and Elizabeth Wake. [4]

In 1841, Mary and her husband William were living in Skinner Street in Stockton on Tees. With them was Mary's brother William Goldsbrough. [5]
