The parents were William Goldsborough and Elinor Close who married at Hurworth on 23 Nov 1803. The marriage was by banns, bachelor and spinster. ^[2] Witnesses were Charles Hunter and Ann Goldsbrough. [Note: Goldsborough in the register, but both William and the witness Ann both signed Goldsbrough.] ^[3]
