Lewis was born about 1796. He was the son of Richard Goodell and Mercy Parkhurst. He passed away in 1809.
His brother Nathan’s obituary reads: “He was the eleventh child, … the others being in order, Willis, Mary, Nathaniel, Patty, Anna, Richard, Marcia, Delia, Olive, Lewis and Lemuel. … Of these, all grew to manhood and womanhood, but Lewis who died at 13. They were all married but one.”[1]
