Biography

Ruth was born in 1644. Ruth Graves ... She passed away in 1720.

Research Notes

Ruth, wife of John York, probably not LNAB Graves. A prior version of the profile called her Ruth Graves, presumably due to a literal interpretation of the 1681 lawsuit settlement between John York and William Graves--John York is referred to the "son in law" of William Graves.[1][2][3] William Graves was then married to John York's mother, Elizabeth so that this identity seems otherwise and better interpreted, "step son."

Ruth, the wife of John York (1642-1690), is not shown to have been a Graves, the daughter of William Graves.

Moving to sever her association as the daughter of William Graves, then recreate her LNAB, Unknown. --Gene

Have adopted this orphaned profile. Input welcome.

What historical evidence indicates her LNAB was Graves, or that she had any blood relation to William Graves. --Gene
