Biography

Archduchess Anna of Austria was born in Vienna on 12 April 1432. She was the daughter of Albrecht, duke of Austria and later King of the Romans, and his first wife Elisabeth of Hungary of Bohemia[1].

She married Wilhelm III von Sachsen, Landgrave of Thuringia, on 20 June 1446 at Jena[1]. They had two daughters:

  1. Margareta, married Johann Cicero von Brandenburg
  2. Katharina, married Heinrich II, duke of Münsterberg[1].

She died at Eckartsberga on 14 November 1462 and was buried at Reinhardsbrunn[1].
