Biography

Jean Baptiste Dugast is on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana, on Plaque 6-R: Le Bon Papa arrive le 29 juillet 1785. Listed with him is his wife, Marie Grossin, and two girls: Marie Dugast and Marie Hache, sa mineure.[1]

Marie Jeanne was born in 1766. She was the daughter of Antoine Hache and Marie Clémenceau.

29 July 1785 : Immigration - New Orleans, Orleans, LA.[2]

Marie HACHÉ, a ward ["mineur" on French list, "huerfana" = orphan on Spanish list], age 18, traveling with Jean Baptiste DUGAT & his wife Marie CLOSSINET [CLAUSINET on French embarkation, CLOSINET on Spanish debarkation list], age 43, plus their daughter Marie DUGAT, age 11.

Married 13 November 1786, St. Gabriel, Iberville, LA, to Charles Mathurin USE. [3]
