Biography

Abraham J. Hackett was born on December 1, 1838 in Canada. He was the third of seven children born to Abraham Hackett and Mary Randall.

He married Mary Jane Ridge in 1861 and together they had 9 children.

In 1850, Abraham was 12 years old and was living in Whitewater, Walworth, Wisconsin, United States with his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.[1]

In 1860 when Abraham was 23 years old, he was living in Whitewater, Walworth, Wisconsin, and working as a farm laborer on a farm owned by his cousin James Hackett and James's wife Melissa. (James was the son of Abraham's Uncle John Hackett). Abraham's personal property was reported to be valued at $200. (In contrast, Cousin James, who owned the farm had real estate valued at $3000 and personal property valued at $400.) [2]

He passed away in 1906.
