Najeeb (Hallaby) Halaby Jr. is Notable.
Najeeb Halaby was an aviator who became a leader in the airline industry. He was also the father of Queen Noor of Jordan.
Najeeb Elias Halaby Jr. was born on 19 November 1915 in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas, the son of Najeeb Elias Halaby and Laura Wilkins. His father was a dealer in Oriental rugs and was recorded on the birth certificate as of "Egyptian" nationality. His mother was "American."[1] He was his parents' only child.[2]
Najeeb Elias Halaby married Doris Ruth Carlquist in Washington, DC, on 9 February 1946.[3] They raised three children together. The marriage ended in divorce in 1977. Doris C. Halaby died at age 97 on 25 December 2015.[4]
He served as the CEO and chairman of Pan American World Airways from 1969 to 1972.
Najeeb Halaby died on 2 July 2003 in McLean, Virginia.[5][6]
