Sarah's parents had a rocky marriage and for part of her life Hannah Hankins, lived with Sarah and her husband Thomas Clift. In 1790 Hannah was not living with Daniel when and the Pittsylvania County Court ordered him to pay her support.[1]
It appears that Hannah probably lived the remainder of her life with her daughter & son-in-law in Pittsylvania Co., VA. [2]
Two years after Hannah's death Thomas Clift, the husband of Sarah Hankins (Hannah's daughter) filed a Bill of Complaint (called a "breach of assumption") Mar 1793 and the court awarded him funds from Daniel Hankins for the support and maintenance of Hannah. An agreement was apparently reached between the parties involved because Daniel gave two hundred acres to his daughter, Sarah Hankins Clift. The timing of the gift to Hannah's death and the wording of the deed looks somewhat like a "make-up".

Hankins-528 and Hankins-771 are not ready to be merged because: Although both share the same birth date and location, Hankins-771 does not have enough information (parents, siblings, spouse, children) to warrant a merge with Hankns-528 at this time. It is noted that Hankins-771 does have a death year and location where Hankins-528 does not.
