Biography

Christen was the son of Hans Kristenson Røen and Brynhild Tølløvsdotter.

Christened 7 Apr 1817 in Rindal parish, Romsdal's county, Norway. ^[1] At the time his parents lived at Romundstad in Rindal.

First time married Ingeborg Larsdatter (1821-1877) on 21 Jan 1844 in Surnadal parish, Romsdal's county (probably in Rindal church). ^[2]

Listed in the 1865 census as owning farmer living with his family at Bollia in Kvernes parish, Romsdal's county. ^[3]

Christen was a farmer on the vicarage (Norw.: 'prestegard') in Aukra parish, Romsdal's county, from 1867, on a leasing contract. ^[4]

Christen Hansen emigrated to the United States with all of his family but his eldest daughter on 16 Apr 1870. ^[5]

Second time married Ingeborg Espelund after 1879 in Kansas, USA.

He passed away about 1884.
