Biography

Phebe was born in 1726. Phebe Harris ... She passed away in 1747.

Phebe was a twin with her brother John.

There is confusion with another Phillip Arnold (Son of James and Elizabeth (Arnold) Arnold) that married a Phebe Harris in 1779.

In the Book, [1] Phebe is said to have married Knight Dexter, Sr. but this doesn't seem possible since he died in 1731 and his son of the same name was married to someone else.

Phebe was named Executrix of her husband's Will.[2]

This is pure speculation. There is one secondary reference that states that this Abraham was married to a Phebe Harris. It is very clear that he was married to Phebe Thornton and had many children, see the list I put up from his son's RW pension application. IF this Abraham was married to a Phebe Harris, I have shown definitively that she is NOT the d. of Toleration Harris, which is repeated heavily on the internet. This is because the Will of Toleration names his daughter Phebe as an Arnold at a time when she would supposedly have been married to AT. Its *conceivable* that this Phebe is from another Harris family, but frankly the link is completely tenuous as far as I know. I am very interested in the problem because this woman, whoever she is, is probably the mother of Capt Abraham Tourtellott (d. 1820, Maxfield Maine).

Harris-8467 and Thornton-4924 both are married to the same spouse on the same date. They have some similarities but not enough that I would feel sure proposing a match. Could you take a look at whether something needs to be corrected to remove one of them from this multiple marriage? (correcting date errors . . .)
