Henry Harrower is Notable.

Henry was born in 1883 in London.[1][2] In 1903, he traveled to Battle Creek, Michigan to enroll in the American Medical Missionary College, where he met and studied under John Harvey Kellogg. He also met his first wife, Bessie Wagoner, who married in 1906 in Battle Creek, Michigan.[3]

After graduating from the American Medical Missionary College, he began his formal study of "organotherapy" or the treatment of disease by the use of animal organs or their extracts,[2] moving to Illinois with Bessie.[4] In 1909, they had a daughter named Verna Irene.[5] In 1912, he published Practical Hormone Therapy, moving the young family to New York in the meantime.[6]

In 1915, the family moved to Glendale, California, where Henry would live for the rest of his life.[7][8][9] In 1918, he established The Harrower Laboratory and Clinic in Glendale[1] and in 1920, he followed his first book with the publication of Practical Organotherapy.

In 1930, his daughter Verna married a man named Robert Boyd Haining.[10] During the 1930s, Henry and Bessie divorced, and Henry married Olive Vince.[9] By the early 1940s, the clinic was sold to the Lambert Pharmaceuticals Company, makers of Listerine.[11]

He passed away in 1953 in Los Angeles County, California.[12]
