John was born in 1794. John Hash ... He passed away in 1828.[1]
There is very little to go on for John Hash. There are some genealogy accounts, but no easily accessible paper trail.. https://www.geni.com/people/Capt-John-Hash/6000000003221375139 http://waltonvaught.tripod.com/hash/i0000919.htm Much of what exists makes sense in terms of time lines and it seems clear that he was the husband of Mary "Polly" Cole and father of 7 children. The first 5 probably born in TN , the last 2 in Illinois. He is out of the picture by 1830 when Polly is the head of household on Federal Census: "United States Census, 1830," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XH53-3CL : 12 August 2017), Polly Hash, Sangamon, Illinois, United States; citing 199, NARA microfilm publication M19, (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.), roll 24; FHL microfilm 7,649. His presence is noted in his father's will and he is clearly the 2nd "John" son. Son of Theodocia Sturgill and Old John Hash. Since the whole family was probably in Illinois by 1825, it is likely that he died there and not in Arkansas as noted in the geni.com history . His mother may have died in Arkansas in 1830 (Find a Grave). This John's Find a Grave entry is all messed up and contains mostly info on his son, John Isom Hash.
John is the son of John II Hash-6 and Theodocia Sturgill (not Old John Hash-5).
