Biography

Henry Charles Heiser was born in 1877 at Detroit but moved with his parents to Cleveland, Ohio in 1878. Among friends and co-workers he was often called "Hank". He married Gertrude Jane Clezie (called "Gertie") and they had four sons, one of whom died in infancy. This family spent 1 year in Montréal, in 1913, for his employer, The Astrup Company, which made window awnings. Apart from that year, most of his life was spent in Cleveland, Ohio.

The 1940 U.S. census showed that Hank and Gertie lived at 8320 Essen Avenue, Parma, Ohio and he was a factory superintendant. About 1946 they bought a house at 6406 Laverne Avenue, Parma, where they lived for the rest of their lives.

He passed away in 1961, age 84. [1]
