Bruce was born in 1910. He was the son of Henry Heiser and Gertrude Clezie.

Bruce married Grace Vander Sluis in 1931. He was drafted in 1942, became a sergeant in the army and was stationed at White Sands Army Base in New Mexico.

He studied under Mr. Tiffany in New York, to get his master's degree in metalsmithing. One requirement was to take a sheet of silver and, using his tools, form it into a tea kettle. After leaving his job at the Cleveland Tank Plant (which has since become the IX Center) he worked as a silversmith in his basement,

Bruce's Ohio death certificate shows that he died at 5:15 AM on January 5th but social security death index shows the date of death was January 6th, maybe due to someone's poor handwriting. [1]
