Biography

Frederick Hill MA is Notable.

Frederick was born in March 1849 in Bradfield, Berkshire. He was the eldest son of Edward Hill MA and Anne Jane (Gauntlett) Hill.^[1][2]

In the 1851 census Frederick (age 2) was living in Little Woolstone, Buckinghamshire, England. Relationship: Son.^[2]

In the 1861 census Frederick (age 12) was living in Hordle, Hampshire, England. Relationship: Grandson.^[3]

He went to Bradfield College where, obviously, he was in the Cricket team, but he was also in the Football team (soccer not rugby)^[4]

In 1867 he went up to Oriel College Oxford graduating in 1870 and taking his MA in 1878.^[5]

After ordination he became the English chaplain in Riga from 1875-6. Later he was vicar of Redcar, Yorkshire.^[5]

He married Alice Kaye Harter in Marylebone in 1887.^[6]

He then became vicar of Cranfield until 1903.

He died suddenly while visiting Kempston, on 28th July 1913 and is buried in Kempston Cemetery.^[7]
