Biography
Sergeant Solomon Howard Sr. served with 5th North Carolina Regiment, Continental Army during the American Revolution.
Solomon Howard Sr. is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A058147.
Solomon Howard was born on 27 Aug 1758 at Bertie County, North Carolina.[1] His father was Samuel Howard[2]
He was a soldier of the American Revolution.[1] On 28 Apr 1776, he served under Captain John Pugh Williams in Colonel Edward Buncombe's 5th North Carolina Regiment.[3] He was discharged on 30 Oct 1778[4][5] He was awarded a pension for his service.[6][7][8]
In 1779 he married Moanen Barron.[8][1] Her given name is spelled "Mourning" in some sources.[2]

The Howards moved to Washington County, Georgia by 7 Aug 1820, when he was enumerated as a head of household in the 1820 Census.[9]
Solomon Howard passed away on 7 Jan 1834 in Washington County, Georgia.[1] The location of his grave is not known.[10]
