Henry was born in 1849. Other spellings for Henry are Hugey and Hugher. Wife also known as Belle
He married his wife Rebecca Belle Alexander on July 9, 1873 in Greenup County, Kentucky.[1]
Henry Hughey was a brick maker in Carter County, Kentucky; died in industrial accident. In the 1880 US Census, Henry listed his age at 31, his birthplace as Ohio, and his occupation as brick maker.[2]
Henry Hughey might have been the son of Dr.Chritopher Martin Hughey who was living in Jackson County, Ohio,at the time though there were no recorded Henry Hughey births at the time. Christopher was an MD, so he could have delivered the baby at home himself. If so,what happened to Henry between the time of his birth and 1880? There were several Hughey families living in nearby Ross County. Dr. Christopher and his wife were recorded in the 1850 Iowa Fed Census. In a later census, his son William Edward listed his dad's birthplace a Indiana and not Ohio. It's a perplexing problem.

Kentucky, Compiled Marriages, 1851-1900 [1]
Henry's parents are not known. Some of my cousins believed him to be Henry Coleman Hughey, but the latter died in the Civil War in 1861. Henry Francis Hughey, son of Dr. Chrisotpher Martin Hughey and Martha Jane Stinson must have died as an infant as Dr. and Mrs. C.M. Hughey had already moved from Jackson County, Ohio, to Daviess County,, Iowa, by 1850. Henry's my brickwall now.
It's unlikely that the Henry Hughey born in Noble County, Ohio, in 1857 is my great grandfather as Henry would only have been 12 when John Wesley Hughey was born in Greenup County, Kentucky. Henry married R. Belle Alexander, who was born in Jackson County, Ohio, in Greenup County, Kentucky, in 1873. She was still living with her parents. I suspect that Henry had a different wife or mistress prior to marrying Belle. She would have been John Wesley's mother, not Rebecca Belle.
I've no census records for (John?) Henry Hughey in 1870. Rebecca Belle is living with her father in Ohio in 1860 and in Kentucky in 1870. NOTE: There's no proof that his first name was John; several of my cousins believe that his full name was John Henry Hughey and that at one time he was a blacksmith. He was not a blacksmith at the time of the 1880 Census in Carter County, Kentucky. He was probably living in Greenup County, Kentucky at the time of the1870 Census, given that his son John Hughey was born there in 1869. He was married there after John's birth and his first daughter was born in Greenup as well. My grandfather Robert Franklin was born in Carter County.

https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/69802454/henry-hughey Note: The reference of Henry Hughey being born in Noble County, Ohio in 1857 is wrong, but my cousin only knows that there was a Henry Hughey born there in 1857. The two Henry Hughey's aret not the same person. The Henry born in 1857 got married and appears with his wife in the 1900 and 1910 US Census Reports. The burial site in Emerson Family Cemetery is still unknown.
My half third cousin and I share autosomal DNA matches. We were both tested on MyHeeritage DNA.
