Biography

Omer Hunt was born on June 11, 1858,[1] in Southwold, Elgin, Canada West, the tenth child of John Nelson Hunt and Mary Millard.[2]

He married Clara Tucker on 2 November 1881 in Southwold, Elgin, Ontario, Canada[3] She was the younger sister of Sarah Jane Tucker the wife of Omer's brother, Lewellen. Clara died in November 1882, a year after she and Omer were married.

On October 5, 1892, in Southwold, Hunt married Mary Margaret Bowlby.[4] They had four children: Charlotte May, John Lloyd, Alberta Luccilla, and Arloff Norman.

He died in 1950 and was buried in the Scottsville Cemetery, Scottsville, Ontario.[1]

Research Notes

Various birth dates: about 1862 (marriage record[3]), June 1857 (1911 census[5].), 11 June 1858 (1901 census[6]). His younger sister Annetta was born in March 1863, which makes 1862 birthdate less likely.
