Born June 19, 1910 to Ann Maunder, and William James Hutley who lived at Duri NSW [near Tamworth]. Jack went to school at Duri Public School and left at age 14. At about that time, his parents bought a property called 'Apple Flat' [due to the large number of Apple gum trees] and the family, including his younger brother Leslie George moved there. It was 400 acres, and was used for 'mixed farming': sheep, horses, agriculture [wheat, lucerne, pastures], dairying, egg and pork production.
Jack was a farmer and stud pig breeder,
He married in 1943 to Dorothy who had 5 children. He passed away in 1977.
