On 26 May 1858, Charles N. Jackson was born in Wood county, Ohio, USA to William Jackson and Mary Parmiter. [1]

On 25 Jul 1860 at the time of the 1860 US Census, head of household William Jackson (age 42, born in Ohio) was employed as a "Showman" and living on a property valued at $1,500 in Middleton Township, Wood County, Ohio with his wife, Mary Jackson (age 34, born in New York), daughter Lydia Jackson (age 18, born in Ohio), daughter Arena Jackson (age 10, born in Ohio), daughter Clarissa Jackson (age 14, born in Ohio), daughter Louisa Jackson (age 12, born in Ohio), son Perry Jackson (age 10, born in Ohio), daughter Mary A. Jackson (age 8, born in Ohio), daugther Phoebe Jackson (age 6, born in Ohio) and son Charles Jackson (age 2, born in Ohio. William Jackson's personal estate was valued at $200. [2]
