Biography

Thomas Jones Sr. was born on 5 Dec 1733 in Mecklenburg, Virginia to parents Thomas Jones and Elizabeth Sarah Hancock. He married Mary Polly Burnett about 1753 in Orange, Virginia.

Children: Zachariah, James, Joseph, Jemima, Susannah, Elizabeth, Hannah, Thomas Brooks, Sarah, Mary Jane, Frances Jane, Lydia, Emmanuel, Nancy Echols.

Thomas Jones served in the Revolutionary War. He died in 1786 in Pittsylvania, Virginia.[1]

Update: According to a January 19, 2021 article in the Oak Ridger [1], Thomas Jones is very likely buried in the Gamble Valley of Anderson County, Tennessee in the Peak Cemetery on the property of son-in-law Jacob Peak and his daughter Mary Jones Peak.
