Born 23 FEB 1878. Newton, Manitowoc, Wisconsin, United States. Died 22 MAR 1957. Manitowoc, Manitowoc, Wisconsin, United States. Buried 1957 Manitowoc, Manitowoc, Wisconsin, United States.

Gustave Jorsch, 79 (above), who resided 55 years at 1401 Hamilton St., Manitowoc, died at 5:15 p.m. Friday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. He had been hospitalized 10 days following a heart attack. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church. The Rev Alfred Pritzl will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Jorsch was born at Newton Feb. 23, 1878, son of the late Mathias and Kathryn Bertler Jorsch. He married the former Marie Therese Pulz Nov. 3, 1898, and the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in on that date in 1948. Prior to his retirement in 1955, Mr. Jorsch was employed as chief engineer of power for the two Manitowoc plants of the Aluminum Goods Mfg. Co. Previously he had been employed as a marine engineer on the Great Lakes for the Goodrich Steamship Co. Mr. Jorsch was a past financial secretary and treasurer of the Marine Engineers Beneficial Assn., a member of the Association of Power Engineers and a chart member and past president of the Sea Gulls Club. Surviving him are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Stanton Griesen of Manitowoc; and a brother, Edward of San Francisco.
